Overview

Located on level 1 of the Arthouse Hotel at 275 Pitt Street in Sydney’s bustling CBD, Artasian is a remarkable blend of contemporary Asian flavors and innovative design. The restaurant showcases a thoughtfully crafted menu that merges classic Asian dishes with modern flair, making it a vibrant destination for anyone craving authentic yet elevated cuisine.

The space itself is striking—an architecturally refashioned venue that exudes warmth and style, setting a tone that is both relaxed and sophisticated. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere invites you to unwind and enjoy. The natural light, tasteful decor, and open layout elevate the dining experience beyond the ordinary city lunch spot.

Artasian's culinary highlights span various Asian staples, with standout mains such as Pad Thai, Stir-Fried Hokkien Noodles, and their aromatic Spicy Szechuan Flat Rice Noodles. Dumpling lovers will appreciate the variety offered, from vegetable to prawn and pork options, served steamed or pan-fried. The menu’s balance between vibrant vegetarian options and rich, meaty dishes like Roast Duck Breast with lychee plum sauce or Crispy Red Snapper underscores its appeal to a wide audience.

The restaurant excels in crafting dishes that are both flavorful and generous in portion. The freshness of ingredients shines through, evident in dishes like the Glass Noodle Salad, which combines herbs and a gentle chili kick for a refreshing, gluten-free choice. Meanwhile, mains offer depth and character, satisfying those looking for classic, hearty Asian meals.

Service here is another highlight. Guests consistently note the warm, attentive, and unpretentious hospitality, creating a welcome that feels genuinely personal rather than transactional. This level of care enhances the ease and enjoyment of dining, whether you’re in for a quick midday meal or a leisurely evening out. The QR code ordering system streamlines service without compromising this approachable vibe, offering a smooth blend of convenience and human connection.

Artasian’s location inside the Arthouse Hotel adds an extra layer of intrigue, nestled within an adaptive reuse space that has breathed life into a historic building. Its proximity to both Pitt and George Streets places it perfectly for office workers, locals, and visitors looking for a unique retreat in the heart of Sydney. This makes it particularly attractive to urban professionals, food enthusiasts, and families alike—anyone who values elevated Asian cuisine in a stylish yet unpretentious environment.

In summary, Artasian is more than just a restaurant—it’s a destination that unites thoughtful culinary craftsmanship with an inspiring setting and genuine hospitality. Whether you’re drawn by the promise of expertly prepared noodles, delicate dumplings, or succulent mains, this venue delivers on every front, promising an experience that is as memorable as it is delicious.

What a hidden gem. I googled all over CBD for a lunch and drew a blank and by chance walked past the ArtHouse Hotel Pitt Street with wife and 9 year old in toe. Literally stumbled across a group going upstairs to wherever, so we followed like hungry lost sheep. The Asian (Artasian) knock-your-socks-off architectual refashioned part of this old building on the 1st level was a get-your-camera-out (we never do this) welcomed by the friendliest of people (so good I can;t call them staff) to enjoy a superb easy, no fuss lunch ($20) specials. I recall walking past this part of Sydney in the 1970's for work, many many times, but in the meantime some genius has transformed the building into 3 levels of eateries (can't wait to try the Rabbitt Hole downstairs and the mysterious Attic Bar on top level) with impressive "above standard decor" which, as we discovered after lunch, is attached to a new indoor open retail and dining space (I can't desribe how good the atmosphere is) that leads from PItt Street to George St. Back to our lunch. It was just was awesome, to say the least. Service was way above standard and even having to use a QR code to order and pay I must say was enjoybale for some odd reason (At 73 years old I normally just despise it) but it did not affect our experience. It made me so excited I wished I had a finanical stake in this place not for any commercial gain, just for the pride of place. We are coming back here 4sure!!!!!

We called ahead to order our food before we got there (short for time) and the staff were very accommodating. The food was delicious with large portions (mains). Nice venue. We enjoyed a booth. The espresso Martini was bitter, not sure how they made it. Otherwise a good experience and would go again.

Located at Level 1/275 Pitt Street, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia ???????? (inside the Arthouse Hotel) Ever since I stumbled across a post about this place on social media, I have wanted to come and I finally got a chance today. I was not disappointed. It’s located inside the Arthouse Hotel and is accessed by the stairs as you in the Pitt Street entrance or there’s a lift available. It’s closed on Monday and Sunday. The restaurant is so tastefully designed, creating a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Willing to help in any way. I ordered the Katsu Prawn Bao Bun and a Chicken Bao Bun. They were so delicious, very flavourful. For main, I ordered the Sizzling Szechuan Chicken and fried rice. Again, beautiful. Also, considering the location and style of restaurant, I thought the prices were very reasonable. I will say the toilet facilities are for the use of all Arthouse Hotel Patrons and are not really accessible for people with mobility issues. You have to go down quite a few stairs to be able to use them. Unfortunate. Overall though, I would definitely recommend visiting Artisan, I really enjoyed my visit and will absolutely be returning. A HUGE thumbs up!

The service and atmosphere of the place was impeccable, not a single complaint. We were greeted at the door and upgraded to a large booth. Also received free drinks as it was an anniversary dinner. The entrees we ordered were good, 2 types of dumplings, 2 types of bao, but the mains felt lacking. The satay was a bit too spicy & the black pepper didn't taste enough like pepper, it was too sweet. The restaurants decor is also very beautiful, the restaurant itself as others have said is a bit hard to find - I recommend looking up the galleries map

Great food, great service and lovely atmosphere. We have been to this restaurant a few times before shows at the State and Theatre Royal..it is within walking distance to both theatres. The staff are really lovely and have a good knowledge of the menu so are very helpful when choosing your dishes. The food is terrific...heaps of flavour , lots of choices and beautifully presented. Prices are really reasonable..not expensive compared to other restaurants in the city centre. It has a good atmosphere and you can easily chat without being drowned out by music or background noise. We love this place and definitely recommend it. Big thanks to all the staff and the chef and his staff for top food and service...

Artasian was a wonderful dining experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was stylish, warm, and beautifully decorated — perfect for a night out with friends. The menu featured a great selection of modern Asian dishes at reasonable prices, with standout items including the steamed pork siu mai, which were juicy and well-seasoned, and the har gow prawn dumplings, delicate and fresh. We also enjoyed the duck pancakes, which were rich in flavour and beautifully assembled. The pricing was surprisingly fair for the quality—some dim sum dishes were offered at a special rate, making it even more worthwhile. The drink menu had a solid selection, especially the sparkling wine and champagne, and we made the most of their champagne happy hour. Service throughout the evening was excellent—attentive, friendly, and professional. Overall, it’s a fantastic spot to enjoy well-crafted Asian cuisine in an elegant yet comfortable setting.
